Overall I really love Galos and it is my go to takeaway in Hertford, of course it is an independent business too which is great. The food is all generally very nice and I have always found the staff to be pleasant. I order around once a week.
The only constructive criticism I have, is the food can be inconsistent in terms of quality. As an example, I will order the chicken caesar salad around once a week. One week it is delicious, 10/10, the chicken is generous, the sauce is coated all over and there is lots of parmesan but then the other week all the salad is dry (Sauce just dumped on top, not mixed in), the chicken is rationed and tastes very dry and there is little to no parmesan.
I am unsure if it is down to the different chefs that work there or due to the fact sometimes it is busier than others and you have to get orders out but I strongly believe the negative reviews you get is due to the fact it is someone's first order and they ordered it on one of your "off" days. It's also a shame because sometimes I order it and just have to accept some days the food isn't that great and it sort of feels like part and parcel of ordering from you.
Overall I love you but I just think the consistency could be improved!

Absolutely amazing amazing pulled pork baguette! Wow. And huge too. Probably the best baguette I've ever had.
Also what topped it off and made the meal
Perfect was the brownies we had! I added my own vanilla ice cream to them and they were just heaven! A nice crust on the outside but so so soft and squishy on the inside! Brownie heaven! Thank you galos! Will

Just had the best meal. Chicken was really juicy and the homemade chicken gravy was really good! Haven’t been there in ages, glad I’ve rediscovered it!
